Justin Roberts - Recess (CD)

⭐ GRAMMY® Nominated — Best Album for Children 🤖 Includes a pop-up robot in the packaging

Justin Roberts is back to full power-pop mode on this GRAMMY®-nominated crowd-pleaser — 12 original songs about aliens, robots, hopscotch, grocery store adventures, and the glorious freedom of recess. It's loud, joyful, and completely irresistible, with Roberts and his five-piece band the Not Ready for Naptime Players firing on all cylinders.

The packaging alone makes this one worth owning on CD: it comes with a fold-out lyrics sheet, a whimsical hopscotch design by artist Ned Wyss, and — yes — a limited edition pop-up robot tucked right inside. It's the kind of physical package that reminds you why CDs are still worth buying.

Standout tracks include the barnstorming title track "Recess," the imaginative "I'll Be an Alien," the funny "Check Me Out, I'm at the Checkout," and the tender "My Secret Robot." A perfect pick for ages 4–10 and anyone who has ever sprinted out of a classroom door. Released July 2013 on Carpet Square Records.
