Justin Roberts - Jungle Gym (CD)

⭐ GRAMMY® Nominated — Best Album for Children, 2011 🏆 #1 Children's CD of 2010 — Fids & Kamily + MetroKids

One of Justin Roberts' most beloved albums and widely considered among the finest kids' records ever made — Jungle Gym is a GRAMMY®-nominated romp through the collective memory of childhood. Trick-or-treating, snow days, gym class parachutes, sleepovers, broken arms, fire drills, and cardboard boxes: Roberts has always had an uncanny ability to find the poetry in the everyday, and this album is that gift at its peak.

Roberts and his band the Not Ready for Naptime Players play with the energy and precision of a great power-pop record, and that's exactly what this is — just one that happens to be for families. Reviewers have compared it to the Rolling Stones' classic run of albums, and it's not hard to hear why. The first three tracks alone are as strong an opening sequence as you'll find anywhere in kids' music.

Standouts include the irresistible "Trick or Treat," the dreamy "Snow Day," the giddy "Gym Class Parachute," and the sweet closer "2 x 4" — a little song about building a treehouse that somehow lands like a gut punch. Sweet spot for ages 5–10. Released June 2010 on Carpet Square Records.
