Justin Roberts - Great Big Sun (CD)

⭐ "Best Music Gift of the Year" — Sesame Street Parent Magazine
🎵 "A sheer delight" — Billboard Magazine
⭐ The debut album that launched Justin's career

The one that started it all. Great Big Sun is Justin Roberts' very first album, written while he was teaching at a Montessori school in Minneapolis and playing in an indie-folk band at night. He originally recorded the songs just to share with his students — and it turned out to be the beginning of a celebrated career in children's music.

Influenced by James Taylor, Randy Newman, and Schoolhouse Rock, the album is acoustic, intimate, and full of the wide-eyed warmth that would come to define everything Roberts made after. Tuba, violin, acoustic guitar, and knee-slap percussion frame 13 original songs about apple trees, pajamas, rainy days, little pigs, and all the small things that feel enormous when you're small. Billboard Magazine called it "a sheer delight." The LA Times said his songs have "creative, unique twists and turns that parents will enjoy as much as children." Sesame Street Parent Magazine named it Best Music Gift of the Year.

A beautiful place to start for families new to Justin Roberts, and a treasured piece of history for longtime fans. For ages 2–7. Released 1997 on Carpet Square Records.
